The Contemporaries, a band new group of young artists, needs your help and support.

We are offering artists the chance to expose their talents, learn from and be inspired by one another. We are not biased – everyone will be given an equal say, both artists within the project, and the audience themselves.

We are not limited by style, theme or outside influence. However, we will have certain
standards of work which will be considered acceptable. Events Our events are first and foremost informal; there are no lectures and no suit-and-tie readings. You, the audience, can socialise with the artists as they in their appropriate corners of the venue, showcase their work in a number of ways. The audience can then provide feedback, offer suggestions, and even share their own ideas and thoughts to the artists themselves.

After the sucess of our first showcase, held at Chiaroscuro in Valletta in July, The Contemporaries are back, with fresh talent, and even more enthusiasm. Our second Showcase is to be held at 6pm, on Sunday 30th August (Once again at Chiaroscuro) and we would love the support of a full venue. Whether you are an artist, writer, or creative thinker, or just want to enjoy some light hearted discussion over some drinks, please feel free to attend! If YOU yourself would like to contribute any artwork, feel free to ask!

For more info, visit our Deviantpage, or contact me here or on clojo91@hotmail.com

Hope to see some new faces at our meetings! :)

So, I should be working, but I decided to log in to deviantart instead, and of course, its always positive to get feedback on your writing, wasn't expecting this though.

"You wonderful literary work has been chosen to be featured by DLD (Daily Literature Deviations) and has been selected as our “ Pick of the Day”. It is featured in a news article here and on our main page."

Keep writing and keep creating.

I am chuffed, for lack of a better word :)

......................

2009 is here. In fact, it's been 2009 for 16 days already, so I think it's time for an update...

Christmas 2008 was so much better than the previous christmas, as I was not at work, didn't have to see relatives I don't like, and spent it with the ones I actually care about. Oh, and my best christmas present; a Wacom graphics tablet! :)

New Year's Eve was also enjoyable, despite being a little down at the beginning of the night. Made some fantastic new friends though, and after what seemed like an age (about 4 months) managed to rekindle some old friendships too, which I'm estatic about.

I'm in a totally different frame of mind these days. So far, it's an improvement.

Am doing a lot of writing and drawing at the moment, after several months without picking up a pencil. I've been looking back on my work and deleted an awful lot of it, not just from here. All saved on my hard drive; for prosperity more than anything else. I have a pile of half-finished sketches, ideas and bits of writing, I just need to sit down and complete them.

Currently; I'm trying to make as much money as I can (while not actually having a properly paying job), yet trying to spend as little as possible. I have a fair few things I want to acheive this year, but whether any of them are possible I'm not sure yet. I'd like to try though. This year I'm hoping get some more of my writing published, become involved in theatre again, and workworkwork on my dancing. I have improved an awful lot recently, so it's good motivation. Aside from that, there's my 18th in summer, Malta's usual array of concerts and whatnot, a holiday (maybe?), and I'm even going to be an aunt in May/June time! I hate kids, but my nephew I can't wait for.

Oh the possibilities...
